finding myself needing a break Occasionally from the more regimented parameters of making tableware, i began throwing shapes a little while back, both for fun and to develop my skills on the wheel.
i was quite instantly very much in love with the unique ‘didn’t plan for it, not sure i could recreate it’ nature of these shapes, and dubbed them sculptural vessels as a way of collating them into a collective study.
having also made a number of large scale sectional pieces over the last couple of years, it’s something i’m looking forward to developing further soon - a landscape of shapes.
