in the late summer of 2017 , I was approached by the team behind Sheffield's Picture House Social and The Great Gatsby bars to discuss producing a range of bespoke tableware for their newest venture, Public - An intimate, speakeasy style bar serving delicious cocktail innovations from alcohol alchemist, Jack Wakelin alongside a fine dining twist on the classic bar snack.

Based on initial branding ideas from Totally Okay, we incorporated a unique custom colourway to my existing Dip collection design to fit with the bar's forest green and dreamy pink aesthetic, and after a few months of tweaking and tinkering glaze formulas, we came up with a super soft, opaque rose quartz toned pink which matched the interior design touches pretty perfectly!

Along with a range of large and small plates, coffee cups and tumblers, I was charged with designing and producing three large, bespoke lampshades for the cosy, walnut lined booths.. Wheelthrown in my usual creamy speckled clay, the exterior of these angular bucket shades were left as raw, textured clay whilst the interiors were fully glazed with the same rose quartz pink to allow for a soft, warm reflective glow.

The Public team's attention to detail across this whole project has been inspirational. From the perfectly executed interior design and fit by Rocket Design, to the extensive vinyl selection from Bear Tree Records (of which you can make your own selection to accompany your in house blended scotch), and with the frankly gorgeous looking food from chef, Tom Aronica captured below by photographer extraordinaire, India Hobson, it's been a pleasure and an honour to collaborate with these guys on a commission I'm particularly proud of.

Feast. Your. Eyes!
